Arvind Kejriwal’s House in Delhi

January 5, 2014 | 0

Arvind Kejriwal’s house, after he became the chief-minister of Delhi, is a five-bedroom duplex house on Bhagwan Das Road in central Delhi. He has been residing all this while in Kaushambi, Ghaziabad. The new home may not be as imposing the one that the previous chief minister of Delhi, Shiela Dixit, has been living in, at Moti Lal Nehru Marg, but it is still a comfortable one.

Aam Aadmi Party sources said that the chief-minister has been given the keys to two duplex flats, both with five bedrooms but Mr.Kejriwal will be staying in one and the other will be converted into his office.  The house at Bhagwan Das Road has a strategic significance, it is close to AAP office in Connaught Place and Delhi Secretariat.

Meanwhile,  he has come under immense pressure from both Congress and BJP for not living a not-so common lifestyle.  Arvind said that not only his opponents but also his friends have advised him against the five-bedroom home, so he has decided to ask the government for smaller home.

While the opposition has criticized Arvind of being a hypocrite and living lavishly, he said that it is made out as if he is living in a 10-bedroom home. He said, “There are two homes. It’s being said that there is one house of 10 rooms. The house in which I’ll live has 5 bedrooms. My Ghaziabad’s home has 4 rooms. If you have any objections, then let me know. Also, do compare the area of my house to that in which the previous Delhi Chief Minister lived,” he said.
