Gopinath Munde Dies of Heart Attack after Car Accident

Union Minister for Rural Development, Gopinath Munde died of heart attack following a road accident in Delhi.  He was 64. At 6.20 am on 3rd June, 2014, Mr. Munde was in his SX4 car traveling to Delhi airport when an Indica car crashed into his vehicle at the Prithviraj Road and Aurbindo Chowk junction.  The car crashed into the vehicle at the rear seat side, where the minister was seated.

Mr. Munde who suffered minor injuries went into a shock after asking for water, and couldn’t be revived.  His personal assistant and driver were unhurt. The senior BJP leader was rushed to the trauma center of the All India Instituteof Medical Sciences, where he was pronounced dead at 7.20 am.

The driver of the Indica, a worker of the Imperial Hotel,was detained by the police.  Mr. Munde was sworn in as the cabinet minister in Narendra Modi’s cabinet last week. Mr. Munde was supposed to fly to Delhi, where he was to address few public meetings.
