Music Director Chakri Dies of Heart Attack

Chakri, the famous music director for Tollywood films died of a heart attack the morning of December 15, 2014. He was just 40.   It is  a great loss for both the Tamil and Telugu film industry because he created his distinct style music with enough variety,  for more than 85 movies.  Some of his best works are in films like Satyam (2003)  Devadasu (1986), Desamuduru (2007), Krishna (2008) and Golimaar (2010). Many of his works for the actor Ravi Teja and for the film-makers Puri Jagannadh.  He debuted in the music scene with Bachi, a Puri Jagganadh movie in 2010.

Chakri who hailed from Mahabubabad, Warangal (Telangana) is also credited with giving rise to new talents in the form of singers,  lyricists and technicians.  His last release was ‘Erra Bus’.

Chakri was married to Sravani Gilla. She found out that he was not getting up from the bed, despite repeated attempts to awake him in the morning. So she took him to Apollo hospital, where doctor pronounced him dead at 7.45 AM. Chakri was suffering from obesity and other lifestyle related diseases.
